Do I use AI?
Do I use AI?
Yes, but not for final production visuals, only in the background.
I needed some graffiti to go on the wall here. That was a quick generation, a background element with low importance. It was an image texture that had to be applied to the wall (wall still being built in 3D)
I've also used it to brainstorm ideas, visual directions. It helps speed that process up. But the final visual still needs to be built traditionally.
I've tried using it to generate full backgrounds for products but was unsuccessful. The results weren't good enough for production.
I haven't used AI for hero products or final renders though. The details and designer's hard work has to be respected down to the millimetre. AI sometimes changes small details and textures and that's not ok.
I've seen product renders produced by AI that look great but then on closer examination the actual shape of the tiny parts, and texture patterns are not the same as the original product.
Imagine you send a poster out to print and the printer freely changes the colours and fonts.
I know there are tools out there that can be trained on products, I haven't tried all of them yet.
For now I'm using traditional methods with AI helping speed up some background work. I like the control and flexibility.
