AI pipeline hygiene and deal review

HubSpot’s new agentic automation can review open deals across a CRM, analyze qualitative history from calls, emails, and notes, flag stale or forgotten opportunities, and recommend the next action so marketing and revenue teams can manage pipeline health faster.

Why the human is still essential here

People still need to maintain good CRM notes, judge whether the agent’s recommendations are sound, and decide how to follow up, re-engage, or close deals based on business context and team priorities.

How people use this

Stale deal flagging

AI reviews open opportunities on a recurring schedule, checks recent activity and engagement history, and flags deals that appear stalled or forgotten for the team to inspect.

Deal history summaries

AI condenses long threads of calls, emails, and CRM notes into a short deal brief so revenue and marketing ops teams can understand status without reading every interaction.

Next-step task recommendations

AI suggests the most likely next action for each at-risk deal—such as follow-up, nurture, requalification, or close-out—and can trigger tasks inside the CRM for the owner.

I’ve been playing with HubSpot’s new Agentic Automation Builder beta, and it’s seriously exciting! 🧡

I’ve been playing with HubSpot’s new Agentic Automation Builder beta, and it’s seriously exciting! 🧡

It opens the door to a whole new level of capability in the CRM: analysing qualitative information at scale, rather than relying purely on fixed rules, fields and dates.

My favourite agent I’ve built so far is a Pipeline Hygiene Agent ⚙️

Every three days, it reviews all open new-business deals and flags anything that is:

✨ Stale

✨ Forgotten

✨ Requires action

For every flagged deal, it gives the reason why and recommends what should happen next.

No more scrolling through activity history or reading months or years of calls, emails and notes to work out what is actually happening.

The agent can digest that history and context, then surface the deals that need attention.

Working through that level of context across an entire pipeline would take DAYS. Now it takes around 10 minutes. 🤯

Which deals are quietly going nowhere? Which need follow-up? Which should probably be closed out? Which need action to get momentum moving again?

This is more than automation following rules. It’s qualitative data analysis at a scale we’ve never really had inside a CRM before. 🚀

It’s early days, but this feels like a seriously powerful new tool. The ability to build custom agents directly in HubSpot opens up a lot of possibilities.

I’ll definitely be building more, so watch this space. 👀
