ok, back to more posts about marketing and AI. For most of my marketing career, showing someone you knew them and valued them was hard, and the effort was the proof. With AI, that cost is gone. Every inbox is about to fill with messages that sound personal and mean nothing.
Customers will adapt. They always do. They will stop trusting the appearance of recognition, because it is now trivial and not believable.
Which is good news, if you are willing to do the real work.
My latest Field Notes, in three sentences:
Know me. That is compliance.
Show me you know me. That is craft.
Show me you value me. That is character.
Machines can imitate the first two. Character is the one that holds.
