Building demo storylines with AI

AI helps shape demo storylines for pre-sales work, speeding up the creation of tailored narratives that connect product capabilities to customer needs.

Why the human is still essential here

The human seller or solution consultant must judge whether the storyline is credible, relevant, and something they would confidently say in the room with a client.

How people use this

Persona-based demo flow

AI suggests the best sequence of product capabilities to show based on the buyer persona, pain points, and likely objections.

ChatGPT / Claude

Industry-tailored demo narrative

AI adapts a standard demo into a vertical-specific storyline, such as retail or healthcare, so the presentation feels more relevant to the buyer.

Navattic / Demostack

Buyer-led demo outline

AI drafts a structure for a self-guided or asynchronous demo that highlights the most important use cases and talk tracks for the account.

Personal Story

I use AI every day in pre-sales.

I use AI every day in pre-sales.
And the most useful part of my setup is not a tool. It is a habit.

AI saves me hours every week.

Discovery prep, demo storylines, RFP answers, follow-ups.

But speed is only half the story. The other half is judgement.

For me, every AI task runs through two gates.

Gate 1, before the prompt: Should this information go in?

- Data privacy matters, so I think before I paste.

- Customer data, personal data, anything identifiable: I ask myself if it really needs to be there.

- Most of the time it does not. "A retail company with 40,000 employees" works just as well as the real name.

Gate 2, before I use the result: Should this result go out?

- Is it factually right? AI sounds confident even when it is wrong.

- Would I say this to a client, in the room?

- And is it mine? Edited, in my voice, with my judgement.

AI is the tool. Judgement is the job.

How do you handle this in your daily work? I am curious.
